Allied Technology Group Continues Support in the Republic of Georgia
During September 2009, Allied Technology Group personnel traveled to the Poti in the Republic of Georgia to support the establishment of an Electronic Support Unit (ESU) for the Republic of Georgia’s Coast Guard. The project, performed under contract to the U.S. Customs and Border Patrol (CBP) Office of International Affairs, rehabilitated a building on the Coast Guard base in Poti. The concrete structure was structurally upgraded to accommodate an electrical shop environment. Improvements included interior painting, electrical upgrades and lighting improvements, installation of new doors and windows, and upgrades to the building security systems. The facility was outfitted as an electronics shop and logistics support facility, with installation of work benches and outfitting of the maintenance facility with tool kits, power tools, test equipment and other requirements of a fully operational electronic maintenance facility. The facility will function as the intermediate electronics and logistics support center for the Georgian Coast Guard. This project is a continuation of support Allied Technology Group has provided to the Republic of Georgia along the Black Sea Corridor of Georgia under CPB direction since 1999.
